Defense is the act of defending a village from attackers using defensive units. Each troop has 2 defensive ratings Infantry and Calvary defense, the higher value of each the better the troop is for defending.

Teutons have the worst defese overall
Walls[]
Walls produce bonus defense to troops stationed in the city.
